Pricing and Eligibility

Important Note: All WCS students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch for the 25-26 school year. A la carte items are available for purchase.

💰 Meal Charges (WCS Board Policy #6225)

  • A la carte items, extra milk, and additional entrees require cash or funds in the student’s cafe account. Adults may not charge items.
  • Unpaid charges must be settled before attending prom, purchasing parking passes, or graduation activities.

Cafeteria & Commons Conduct

  • ✔ Students must dispose of their own trash properly.
  • ✔ All lunch trays must be returned to the proper window.
  • ✔ Keep conversations at an acceptable volume; no yelling.
  • Safety Warning: Sitting on table tops or in laps is prohibited. Throwing food is strictly forbidden.

🍎 Competitive Foods Policy

Outside Food Restriction

No outside business food (fast food) may be brought into the school while food is being served in the cafeteria.

If food is brought in commercial packaging, students must eat in the administrative office area.

Regulations & Statutes

NC Regulation:

No food or beverage may be sold to students on campus in competition with the school nutrition program from 12:01 AM until the cafeteria closes for the day.

NC General Statute 115C-264:

Public schools shall participate in the National School Lunch Program under the jurisdiction of Child Nutrition Services and federal USDA guidelines.

🚨 NOTICE: The State Agency may reclaim Federal funds if the school is found in violation of the Competitive Foods Policy.
