Honors Recognitions

I. Honor Societies

National Honor Society (NHS)

  • GPA Requirement: 3.75 GPA or higher (after 1st semester of sophomore year)
  • Selection Criteria: Based on scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
  • Students are invited to complete an application.

Beta Club

 
  • GPA Requirement: 3.25 GPA or higher.
  • Service: Complete 2 community service hours/month.
  • Dues: Membership Fee Required.

 

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)

  • GPA Requirement: 3.25 unweighted GPA.
  • Coursework: Three courses in a cluster, including a level 2 course.
  • Conduct: Good attendance and discipline.

II. Honor Graduates (Starting Class of 2019)

High school principals shall designate the following senior honors based on **weighted grade point average (GPA)**:

  • Cum Laude: 3.5 - 3.99 weighted GPA
  • Magna Cum Laude: 4.00 - 4.249 weighted GPA
  • Summa Cum Laude: 4.25 or higher weighted GPA

III. Junior Marshals

Selection is based on the **top 10%** of junior students by weighted GPA at the end of the 1st semester of their Junior Year.

Commitment and Expectations:
  • Selected students may list their selection on applications and resumes.
  • To be listed in the graduation program, marshals must commit to be available, responsible, and present at senior awards, graduation practices, and commencement.
  • Students will be informed at least 1 month prior to graduation to plan accordingly.
  • Students will sign an agreement confirming their participation and detailing expectations.
Integrity and Conduct:
  • Must demonstrate the **highest level of integrity** in all classes.
  • No major discipline infractions (e.g., ISS or OSS, Academic Integrity Code violation, etc.).
  • Must practice proper decorum and be exemplary models of **Eagle Pride**.
  • Failure to follow school expectations (attendance, behavior, academic integrity) may forfeit a student's opportunity to serve as Junior Marshal.
