Due to the forecasted inclement weather for our area on Thursday evening and Friday, the graduation ceremony for Wilkes Central’s Class of 2025 will be moved indoors to the New Gym. The ceremony will begin at 8:00 pm with doors being opened at 6:30 pm. Guests must submit a valid ticket for entry at the main entrance at the front or the rear entrance nearest the student parking lot. Junior Marshals will serve as ushers to seat guests to best utilize space.

Each graduate planning to participate in the graduation ceremony will receive 8 tickets. Students must attend the graduation practice on Thursday, 5/29, at 5:30 p.m. to receive these tickets. There are NO extra tickets, but graduates who will not need all 8 tickets will be encouraged to share them with other students who may need additional tickets. This will be coordinated by students themselves; WCHS office staff and administration will not have extra tickets to issue or distribute. These tickets will reserve admission for any ticketholder up until 7:45 p.m., at which point our Stand-by line may be issued any remaining seats.

To allow as many family members to participate in the ceremony as possible, we will have a “Stand-by” line outside of the New Gym for guests without tickets. At 7:45 p.m., our staff will admit “Stand-by” guests on a first-come, first serve basis based on available seating as allowable by the fire code. Any guests not admitted will have the option to watch the live stream of the ceremony on TVs set-up in the WCHS cafeteria. The live stream will also be available for families through YouTube, and the link to the live stream will be shared by Friday afternoon on our school website, through Remind, and on all social media platforms.

General Parking - guests will park in the student and faculty parking lots. Please avoid parking in the grass and/on the curbs and sidewalks. No cars should be parked in the fire lane in front of the New Gym. WCHS staff and Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputies will be onsite to assist in parking directions and guest arrival.

Handicap Parking and Seating - The parking lot in front of the New Gym and main entrance will be reserved for guests with valid handicap stickers. There will also be reserved floor seating for our handicapped guests. Please kindly observe this reservation, and this seating is clearly marked on the bottom row of bleachers. If parking spaces are still available in this lot at 7:45 p.m., the lot will be opened for any guest.

We appreciate kindness and courtesy on behalf of all guests as we try to ensure that all of our graduates have a safe, fun, and memorable high school graduation. Stadium seats will not be permitted due to preserving space for as many guests as possible. Please be reminded that tobacco and vape use are prohibited on school premises according to NC law and Wilkes County Schools policy. Animals that are not registered and documented service animals are also prohibited on campus. Debido al mal tiempo pronosticado para nuestra zona el jueves por la noche y el viernes, la ceremonia de graduación de la Generación 2025 de Wilkes Central se trasladará al interior del Nuevo Gimnasio. La ceremonia comenzará a las 8:00 p. m. y las puertas se abrirán a las 6:30 p. m. Los invitados deben presentar un boleto válido para ingresar en la entrada principal, ubicada frente al gimnasio, o en la entrada trasera, cerca del estacionamiento para estudiantes. Los jovenes mariscales serviran como acomodadores para acomodara los invitados y aprovechar al maximo el espacio.

Cada graduado que planea participar en the ceremonia de graduacion recibera 8 boletos. Los estudiantes deben asistir al ensayo de graduación el jueves 29 de mayo a las 5:30 p. m. para recibirlos. No hay boletos adicionales, pero se anima a los graduados que no necesiten los 8 boletos a compartirlos con otros estudiantes que puedan necesitar boletos adicionales. Esto será coordinado por los propios estudiantes; el personal de oficina y la administración de WCHS no tendrán boletos adicionales para emitir ni distribuir. Los boletos reservaran la entrada para cualquier poseedor de boletos hasta las 7:45, momento en la cual nuestra linea de espera podra emitir los asientos restantes.

Para permitir que la mayor cantidad posible de familiares participen en la ceremonia, tendremos una fila de espera frente al gimnasio para los invitados sin goletos. A las 7:45 p. m., nuestro personal admitirá a los invitados de reserva por orden de llegada, según la disponibilidad de asientos permitida por el código de incendios. Los invitados que no sean admitidos tendrán la opción de ver la transmisión en vivo de la ceremonia en los televisores instalados en la cafetería de WCHS. La transmisión en vivo también estará disponible para las familias a través de YouTube, y el enlace se compartirá el viernes por la tarde en el sitio web de nuestra escuela, a través de Remind y en todas las redes sociales.

Estacionamiento general: Los invitados se estacionarán en los estacionamientos para estudiantes y profesores. Evite estacionar en el césped y/o en las aceras. No se permite estacionar vehículos en el carril para bomberos frente al nuevo gimnasio. El personal de WCHS y los agentes del Sheriff del Condado de Wilkes estarán presentes para ayudar con las indicaciones de estacionamiento y la llegada de los invitados.

Estacionamiento y asientos para personas con discapacidad: El estacionamiento frente al nuevo gimnasio y la entrada principal estará reservado para los invitados con calcomanías válidas de discapacidad. También habrá asientos reservados en el suelo para nuestros invitados con discapacidad. Por favor, respete esta reserva; los asientos están claramente marcados en la fila inferior de las gradas. Si aún quedan plazas de aparcamiento disponibles a las 19:45, se abrirá para cualquier invitado.
