Eagle Nation Weekly Announcements for September 9-13, 2024

Hello, Eagle family!  We had an amazing week at Wilkes Central last week.  Thank you to all our families and students for helping us soar high during the 1st 9 days of school!

As a reminder, all students that are car riders should be dropped off outside the band/chorus hallway each morning.  Car riders should be picked up in the same location.

Also, all students should have turned in all required forms from the first day of school at this point in order to use their Chromebook/laptop, etc.  If your student still needs to turn these in or pay his/her student fee, please make sure this is taken care of by Friday, September 13th. Families may choose to use our new online payment system.  Access this online payment system through the QR code on this week’s Eagle Nation Weekly Calendar.

Also, we encourage all families to have access to the PowerSchool app.  You can find more information about this on the Wilkes County Schools website.  To receive the access code to monitor your student’s attendance and grades, please call our front office at 336-667-5277.

Did you know Carolina West Wireless will donate 3% of your monthly fee to your favorite school? Please sign up to have WCHS receive your school contribution on their website if you are a CWW customer! Thank you for supporting our school!

This week, we will continue to practice school safety drills as part of our ongoing training with the I Love U Guys Foundation Standard Response Protocols. We encourage families to access information about these protocols, which can be found in our WCHS Student Handbook on our website.

Our WCHS Athletics Booster Club will meet on Monday, September 9th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons.

Tickets to the WCHS Semi-formal Homecoming Dance will remain on sale this week at all lunches.  Tickets are $10.  The dance will be held on Saturday, September 21st, here at WCHS for 9th-12th grade students only. Students wishing to bring a guest from another school must get a Guest Permission form from Mrs. Rowe, Mrs. Reece, or Mrs. Eddy.

Looking ahead:  We will have a Class of 2027 Sophomore Family Night at 6:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons on Tuesday, September 17th.

Sept 16th-20th is Homecoming Spirit Week here at The Nest!  We hope all of our students will show their Eagle spirit  and #EaglePride!  Stay tuned for announcements on theme days. Also, any parent wishing to make a spirit flair donation to our school can turn those into the main office.  Thank you for helping us celebrate Eagle spirit with all students on Fridays!

Progress Reports for 1st quarter will go home on September 25th.

There will be no school on Friday, September 27th, for a required teacher workday.

Have a great week!
