Student Services Announcements

It's a busy start to the year...  Here are some important things that a currently happening:

  • The counselors will begin conducting SENIOR CONFERENCES in Mid-August with the seniors to discuss post-high school plans including college applications and scholarships.  Students are encouraged to sign up for an appointment through CANVAS.  Parents are welcome to attend and may email Ms. Masten-Byers or Ms. Wise to set an appointment outside of the school day if needed.
  • Nominations are currently being solicited for Governor's School 2020, a summer program for AIG students to further explore their academic interests.
  • Seniors need to be especially aware of upcoming deadlines for early action applications and merit scholarships from colleges and universities.
  • Sophomores will begin preparing for the PreACT which will be administered in late October to all 10th graders.  This test is a great opportunity to start gauging college readiness as well as qualify for eligibility to take WCC College and Career Promise courses during the 11th and 12th grade years at WCHS.

Watch the WCHS homepage for announcements about parent nights in late August and early September.
